5 Things To Do With 1 Dollar!

So, you finally have a few precious hours to yourself? What will you do with this luxury? Whether it's a quick entertainment fix, a project you plan to undertake, or a succulent bite to eat you're after, chances are you need some cash! You dig deep down into the dregs of your purse (or wallet, I assume at least a few men will end up reading this) and you come up with...one lonely crumpled dollar bill?! This is 2011 IN AMERICA! What can one dollar possibly buy? Well, hopefully the following suggestions will inspire you...

1) Donate It!
Whether its putting that buck in a church collection plate, sending it to your favorite charity, or using it to buy a helpful product for someone in need, the greatest thing you can use a dollar for is to give joy and love! I guarantee you spreading happiness to others will feel far better than that candy bar or lip gloss. Food for thought...

                  2) Redbox It!
Possibly the ultimate inexpensive entertainment experience, Redbox
DVD rentals are fabulous for spending an evening curled up on the
couch with your family, friends, or by yourself. Has many new
releases and a few good classics, at one dollar per night, Redbox
can't be beat! Just make sure you remember to return your movie,
or you will continue to wrack up dollar charges every day (up to
$25.00. Rentals are due by 9 pm the following day).

3) Eat It!
Not literally of course. But with all the delicious (and some not so delicious) dollar menu items out there, you can certainly get a snack for a buck. One of my faves: the caramel sundae from McDonalds. At about 330 calories and 10g fat, it is a relatively sinless indulgent treat. They come in Hot Fudge and Strawberry as well. Tip: skip the nuts on top and save a few dozen calories!

4) Shop It!
Maybe thoughts of browsing your local dollar store are a little intimidating, or frankly, creepy. The lurid neon lights, crowded isles filled with harried shoppers... where do you even begin, right? Well, dollar strores are a treasure trove of great inexpensive items such as cosmetics, jewelry, dishes and housewares, gardening supplies, and even groceries. Just make sure to thoroughly inspect the item before purchacing it, to make sure its quality meets your standards. Take a few minutes to browse and you'll certainly find a dollar's worth of bargains!

 5) Repair It!
Well, it may not be loads of fun, but don't we all have those projects sitting around that we never seem to get around to? Turn your dollar into a button and thread to finally fix your favorite shirt! Buy some superglue to repair that crack in your vase! From duct tape to picture hangers, a dollar solves it all!

I hope you've enjoyed these dolleriffic ideas. Feel free to leave feedback and check back for new posts! :)
