New Feature: Blogging For Books!

Although I will continue to feature my daily OOTD's here on Vintage Meets Modern, I am also looking to expand the range of topics I blog about. One of my greatest passions, besides fashion, is reading. I was so excited when I received an email from the organization Blogging For Books! By completing a short survey about my reading interests, I am now able to request free books to review here on the blog! I can order as many as one free book a week in exchange for my honest reviews here on my blog and on the website.

The first book I chose to request is Simple Thai Food by Leela Punyararabandhu. I also have a live for cooking and and interest in Asian cuisine, so I look forward to trying some of these recipes and reviewing this book for you! Look for my first book review within the next 3 weeks.

OOTD: Makes Me Happy/Monochromatic Monday

I'm doing something unexpected (for me) today. Some people look so chic in all black ensembles, but I've always felt awkward, like I was wearing a Halloween costume or heading to a funeral. I think there are two things that really made me love today's outfit; finally finding the perfect pair of black skinny jeans, and adding metallic accessories. The jeans are from F21, and the fit and inseam is perfect. They're also comfy; I'm really impressed with how much the quality and variety of their plus sizes has improved.

When I saw today's challenge combo I was like o.O
"How am I going to strike the right balance of radiant orchid and printed pants without looking OOT?" After much thinking, I believe I finally came up with a winning combo. :)
I wish the print of these awesome ankle pants photograped better. They are dark burgundy/black baroque print.
