NOTD & Review: Dainty Digits Holos

I have many good things to say about these polishes from the indie brand Dainty Digits. The most impressive thing to me was the super smooth formula. They all just glided right on and I barely had to do any cleanup. This is two coats of all. The first coat on some was surprisingly sheer. Some of them even could have done with a third coat for extra brilliance, but I was in a hurry and 2 was fine.
From thumb to pinky: Black Hole Sparkle, Stardust Splendor, Planetary Pearl, Sunburst, and It's Not Pluto.
The thumb and middle finger are tied for my faves. Really gorgeous. I'm not into browns and oranges that much, but I quite like the colors on my ring and pinky fingers. Holo makes even the most blah colors amazing. The one on my index finger fails as a holo; it's a faint shimmer at best, but it actually is a nice color, sort of a very light gray creme. I ended up putting a holo topcoat over that one so it would look more like the others, but I'd wear it separately as is. Overall I'm very satisfied with the quality and these 5 mini polishes were only $12.
I had ordered 6 and one failed to arrive, but the mistake has since been corrected.

Review: BHG Caramel Pumpkin Popcorn Candle

Yesterday when perusing the wax section in Walmart, I found a new Better Homes & Gardens candle scent I hadn't heard of, so of course it came home with me. Caramel Pumpkin Popcorn. Cold sniff is delightful; caramel corn with a bit of pumpkin spice. Throw is strong like most BHG candles. This one's a winner folks!
I decided to pair it with A Thankful Harvest which is a very traditional pumpkin pie scent to my nose. What does your home smell like today? Happy Meltings!

OOTD: Inspired By My Mani

Just wanted to say that I matched my outfit to my nails today.

It used to be the other way around, lol, but the past several weeks my nail colors have been inspiring my looks.

NOTD: Zoya Dotticure

Another mani I'm in love with! The photos do not do justice to the beautiful shimmer of Yuna. I love that so many Zoyas are one coaters for me. I'm glad I did a mani today. I was feeling a bit down and low on energy, but having something pretty on my nails to look at always makes me feel better.
1 coat Zoya Yuna with dots in Zoya Zuza and SC Boom Boom. Ulta top & base coat.

Recipe: Puff Pastry Pizza

I made this puff pastry pizza with the instructions from this recipe and added my own toppings: marinara, romano cheese, pepperoni, artichoke hearts, and olives. Wine is Barefoot Pink Moscato. I'm no wine connoisseur, but this is a very refreshing, crisp, and lightly sweet wine.

Review: Nail-Aid Glitter Polish Remover

Nail-Aid Glitter Polish Removal Gel. I got it just to try it, as who wouldn't want a better way to remove polish? You're supposed to be able to dip your fingertips in, let it sit for 4 minutes and wipe the polish right off with no scrubbing. Lies! I followed the directions to the letter, even timing myself, and it removed hardly any of the glitter polish and only some regular polish. Plus it way very sticky and left little bits of paper towel all over my fingers that were extremely difficult to wash off. It was an unpleasant experience. I don't usually have anything bad to say about products, but I wouldn't recommend this. Waste of $3.88. The cotton balls soaked in acetone does a way more thorough job. I'm going to return it; fortunately I saved the receipt. I just wanted to share my experience to possibly save someone else the struggle. Has anyone else tried this product?

NOTD: Brilliant Burgundy

An indie maker called Polished Charmed Nail Art (not affiliated) saw one of my mani pics on Instagram and offered to send me some of her products for free to review! She sent me a pretty burgundy polish and 3 sets of nail jewels to try; how generous! I'd never applied bling to my nails before; was excited to try it.

When I tried out my new polish and nailcharms I eased into it with an accent nail. I love how elegant it looks! The quality of these polishedcharmenailart products is fabulous! The polish is a beautiful burgundy with a smooth formula. I cannot recommend it enough!

Review: BBW Pumpkin Coconut Candle

A huge rave for this candle! This is the best candle scent I've tried from BBW in years! I've had hit or miss experiences with some having poor throw or a plastic odor I didn't like, but this one is amazing! I've been burning it for about an hour and a half and has a nice even wax pool and it's strong throw has filled my living room with a delectable scent! It's just as I hoped it would be; a foodie/bakery pumpkin with a definite coconut note. This has replaced Pumpkin Pecan Waffles as my favorite BBW 3-wick. I wish they made body care in this scent. Has anyone else tried it yet?

Review: Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar & Yankee Mango Peach Salsa

Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar candle: this one had the most delightful coconut scent on cold sniff, but like all the other Pacifica candles I ordered, it has a fake plasticy smell to the wax when burning that I don't like..it also has weak throw; I don't smell it unless I'm within a couple feet of it. I was sorely disappointed in all the Pacifica home fragrance products I purchased and would not repurchase. I would still want to try their body care products though, since I've heard many rave reviews.

Typical of Yankee tarts, this Mango Peach Salsa tart had mild throw for an hour or so and then died. It was a lovely tropical peachy scent while it lasted though. I do not buy Yankee tarts anymore because of throw, but this one was gifted to me so I figured I should use it up.

NOTD: Ciate Chinchilla

So I used these clips for the first time to remove the massive amount of glitter from my last mani. They worked quite well; stayed in place until I removed them, and most of the glitter came right off on the cotton balls. It still took a while waiting for them to soak, but much less elbow grease was used. They were kinda fun too; reminded me of putting paper clips on and pretending I had long nails as a kid, lol.

Then I oiled my nails which left my cuticles feeling great. We shall see if it helps with the longevity of polish.

Current NOTD is 2 coats Ciate Chinchilla, a beautiful sky blue.

I wanted to add these cat decals, but they didn't come with instructions and for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to use them. I thought they would just be sticker, but they wouldn't come off the paper, even with tweezers.Reading the few reviews that were available, some people said they had watched a tutorial on how to apply them, but I sure wish they had linked it because I could not find anything through Googling or looking on YouTube. Then I had the brilliant idea that maybe they work like temporary tattoos. Sure enough they did, but the white from the backing also transferred and completely covered up the cat art! It was at this point I gave up. -__-
But then I went on a message board and they were able to tell me these are water slide decals and how to apply them. Success!

Review: Wax Warm Ups Part 2

melted the Gardenia scented wax warm up last night for about 4 hours. It had moderate to strong throw; scented my small kitchen nicely. It was a pleasant and not overwhelming but generic floral scent. It reminded me of floral scented laundry soap. Overall I like the concept of this wax soaked reusable sponge. It did make cleanup a lot easier while still having decent throw. They are definitely reusable; it still smelled as strong when I stopped melting it as it did when I started. I just wiped up as much of the wax as possible with the sponge and put it back in the bag it came in. You do need a warmer with a flat plate though. They do not fit as well in the 15 watt wall plug in kind.

This morning I have been melting the Mahogany scent for about 2 hours. I'm getting moderate throw; slightly less than the Gardenia scent from yesterday, but this may be due to it being really cold this morning and the warmer taking longer to heat up. The scent is nice; similar to BBW Mahogany Teakwood or 719 Mahogany Driftwood.

Overall I would be interested in purchasing more of this product. Their site is now open for business and I have been browsing their products at www.waxwarmups.com. The scents I'm most interested in trying are:
Vanilla Buttercream
Salted Caramel Cupcake
Rose
Island Coconut
Fresh Melon
Amber

UPDATE: Wax Warm Ups Site

It looks like they are selling 3 packs of 1 scents for $7.75 each, or sampler packs of 6 for $14. Some of their scents sound really good.

Review: Wax Warm Ups Part 1

I was contacted through Instagram by a company called Wax Warm Ups. They sent me free samples to try and review. I'm not affiliated; I just want to share these interesting new wax products with you guys!

Wax Warm Ups are essentially a many layered felted sponge like shape that hold scented wax. They can be used with any regular wax warmer and when heated they disperse the wax into your warmer. When you are done using them you turn the warmer off and wipe the liquid wax up with the sponge for easy cleanup and disposal! Here is an Instagram video showing how they work. https://instagram.com/p/7NiWwuM5iC/

They plan to offer a variety of scent and shape combinations. They are not available to purchase yet, but the company hopes to have their website up soon, possibly even by tomorrow according to their Insagram page. Right now they are just spreading the word about their products through social media.

I have not melted them yet, but they smell very strong on cold sniff. These are not necessarily scents that I would have chosen for myself as I am more of a foodie/vanilla than fresh/floral gal, but I was so grateful to receive such generous samples! If these work well I would be very interested to see what other scents they have to offer. I will melt one tomorrow and report back!

NOTD: NOPI Back To Reality TV

Nice formula; smooth and quick drying. This is 2 coats with Ulta top/base coats & Dainty Digits Drop The Ball on accent nail. The subtle shimmer is mainly only visible in the sunlight, but beautiful color overall. I had to nubbinize because of some weird breaks. :/ I feel like longer nails made my fingers look more elegant, but hopefully now I can get them all the same length.
