Review: Little Pea Soaps Products

I found out about the bath and body vendor Little Pea Soaps on Instagram a few months ago. I entered one of her giveaways and delighted to win a generous package of natural bath and body goodies!
Vanessa is a wonderful vendor who puts so much care into her handcrafted organic and vegan products. From her beautifully colored and shapes soaps and bombs to whimsical, rustic packaging, her Etsy shop is a virtual kalidoscope of lovely products! For more information on her wide line of wares, check out her Etsy shop here.

Here are my thoughts on the products I've used so far. (Disclaimer: I have not been compensated fo this post, nor am I affiliated with the vendor. All opinions expressed are my own.)

Green Tea Seed and Camomile Lip Balm-
This is probably my favorite of all the products I've received. This is a wonderfully moisturizeing lip balm with no  scent or taste. It's a great option for when you don't want a sticky, flavored gloss on your lips. The few simple ingredients leave my lips feeling soft for a couple of hours. I leave it near my sofa so I can reapply it throughout the day when I'm at home. I also find the slide lid pot convenient; I just touch my lips to it and rub them together. No finger or twisting of a tube required.

Cleopatra's Oils and Essence: Grape Seed, Yuzu and Rosemary Extract-
As the exotic name suggests, this product left my skin feeling very soft and moisturized. I find the oil sinks into the skin fairly quickly and doesn't leave a lot of heavy oil sitting on the surface of the skin. If you have particularly dry skin this oil would be very effective. I used it on both my face and body with positive results. It also has a nice light herbal aroma from the rosemary; very calming.

"Radiant Plum" Nail Polish-
I nearly squealed with excitement when I saw a polish included in my package. As we all know, I'm a nail junkie. This also happens to be one of my all time favorite colors; that radiant orchid/fuschia type. I had a lot of fun testing this polish out. It turned out to be a "jelly" formula which is not completely opaque. It's not usually a polish finish I reach for, but with about three coats I achieved a result I was satisfied with. The polish itself applied very smoothly and did seem to have a great formula. Something was mentioned about the polish also being scented, cherry blossom I believe, but I didn't really smell anything.

Vegan Mud Mask-
I love a good mud mask and this one was no exception. I was a bit surprised when I first opened the cute mason jar and realized the mask was a powder and not a paste. I proceeded to wet my face, scoop a bit of the powder into my palm, and rub it on. It then turned into the consistency of a regular mud mask and I found it to be very pleasant. It dried and tightened after a few minutes and when I washed it off my skin felt soft and refreshed. The only drawback to me was that the powder was quite messy to use. I got it all over my counter and had to clean it afterwards. I will take more care next time, but I think for this reason I would prefer a mask in paste form.

Citrus Sherbet Emulsified Body Scrub-
This is a lovely sweet citrus scented sugar scrub. In fact I was greeted by its aroma when I first opened the package because some of its oils had leaked out in transit. Fortunately it was well separated from the other items and it didn't damage anything else. I was able just to wipe off the container and it was nearly as good as new. I don't know whether I'm the only customer that has had this issue, but I would recommend the vendor look into a different type of container with a tighter seal. I also found this container extremely difficult to open because it's so wide and short I had trouble getting a good grip on it. I even used a towel for grip, but still spend several frustrated minutes twisting before I finally got the lid off. Once opened I found the scrub to be delightfully fragranced and of a medium to large grain sugar consistentcy. I found it to be exfoliating and moisturizing; it left my legs and feet feeling soft. It's fairly scruby, so I wouldn't recommend it for those with sensitive skin. It's especially great for problem skin on the feet though.

I also received several bar soaps and bath bombs in my package that look and smell absolutely gorgeous! I am dying to use them, except that I currently live in a place without a tub. I will have to wait until I go on vacation to try out the bombs and salts, or else pass them along to a bath loving friend. I do hope to test out some of the bar soap after I've finished up my current soap and body wash. If I get a chance to test out these other products I will certainly do a part two review.

Overall I am very impressed with Little Pea Soaps products, aside from a few minor packaging issues, and I would highly recommend anyone looking for natural and vegan products to check them out!

  2. Thank you so much for taking the time to review the products & congratulations again on winning my first ever Instagram 500 followers giveaway!

I usually include a print out with a list including ingredients & directions of use in every order.

The vegan mud mask is meant to be scooped out in a teaspoon into another bowl & water or whatever additives you like (so its customizable), until its a toothpaste consistency then you smoothly apply it. I am formulating an awesome mask to come out October that is ready to apply in addition to the activate at home vegan mud mask!

The nail polish scent comes out after being completely dry. I smell a hint of it every time my fingers are by my nose. But it is fairly subtle. My soaps are overwhelming sometimes & I cannot smell it but in the mornings my nose is so sensitive I can smell it still after a few days! =D I only make the nail polishes for myself, craft shows or friends or custom orders.

Im so SORRY about the scrub! Those containers can be a pain to open when they are all greasy! I put them in there as a sample. I also tightened it fairly hard. The actual product does come in mason jars or mason type jars. Since I dont use plastic packaging (but now I do have biodegradable, compostable vegetable based plastic type packaging) I used those tins for my butters, salves & samples.

Im really looking forward to your soap update review. Especially the Forbidden Love Spell Soap. It was very popular & sold out fairly quickly. I would love to send you another small goodie package! Ill connect on IG!
