OOTD: Styling A Lularoe Cassie Skirt

Pencil skirts are fabulous, but not everyone may like having their...ahem...assets on display. I'm personally fine with the rear view but I don't really love my mid-section so the key for me to wearing a fitted skirt or pant is to wear a looser top. By "looser" I don't mean baggy to the point of looking ill fitting. Go for a drapey/flowy top that skims the curves but still looks put together. This drapey tee is great to pair with a pencil skirt for a more casual summer look. If you wish to dress up your pencil skirt, try a peplum blouse or an untucked button up shirt with a sweater or cardigan.

I posted this outfit in a few fashion forums and got many questions about whether plus size ladies can wear pencil skirts. Absolutely anyone can! It all depends on what you feel comfortable in and how you style it. I encourage anyone to give a style of garment they're not sure about a try before dismissing it as something they "can't wear." Bring a couple different styles of tops in your bag and try them on with a pencil skirt at a department store or with a Lularoe consultant and see if you find a top and bottom combo that you like on yourself. Trying new things is one of the most fun parts about developing personal style!

I have several pencil skirts of different brands, but if you are specifically interested in the fit of the Lularoe Cassie pencil skirt, here are some helpful sizing charts.

Irregardless of your, size, height, or shape, you can rock any outfit by being confident in yourself and feeling good in what you wear. Life's too short to wear clothes you don't love!
